1) I think I am quite straightforward when it comes to a task. I am a person who wants things to be done very quickly and as soon as possible. Sometimes that leads to the fact that I am very impatient with others. But I think others can always demand the same speed of me as I do of them.
2) I am very organized. When I have a huge task or multiple things at the same time in front of me, I always try to organize myself first and then put hands on the tasks. Although it takes me a while to organize and manage everything, it’s definitely worth its time. Because once I managed and arranged everything, I am much faster in getting the things done.
3) I am very ambitious. I always have a goal in mind which I want to achieve; whether it is having good grades at university or getting an internship at a company, I always wanted to work for. I always try my best and don’t give up unless I reached my goal.
4) I am very persistent. If something does not work, I always try and error unless it works. Although sometimes it might take a while, I get the desired results.
5) I am agreeable to a certain point. To a certain point means, that I have my visions and ideas and that I am unlikely to change them. On the one hand, it’s right not to be too agreeable, since you might lose sight of your own ideas and thoughts when you always agree with others. But sometimes, especially when it comes to group work, I would like to be more agreeable. Being more agreeable makes things easier sometimes.
Part 2: Interviews
My mum: Doris Emler-Gschossmann
I am sorry that this interview is recorded in German. Since I am a German international student and my mum’s English isn’t the best, it was easier for her to record the interview in German. I will do a summary in English: My mum told me that I am a very energetic person and always very well organized. Also, she explained that I always achieve my goals quite fast compared to others and put a lot of effort into my work. Furthermore, she told me that I am a quite happy person and that I always laugh a lot. But my mom also pointed out, that I should be more agreeable sometimes because I always want to pursue my own will.
My aunt: Katrin Emler
When asking my aunt about what makes me unique compared to others, she pointed out that I am very ambitious and always want to perform at the highest level.
My dad: Johann Gschossmann
My dad mainly pointed out that I am very well organized and always have a plan, which I try to follow through. Furthermore, he says that I am very goal oriented and reliable. In the end, he stresses that I am a very emotionally stable person.
My sister: Anna-Maria Gschossmann
My sister told me that I am very organized and always try to follow my plans. Furthermore, she said that I deal with money very well.
My sister: Lena Gschossmann
When asking Lena what comes to her mind when thinking about differences that make me unique, she told me that I am very thoughtful in my relations to others. Furthermore, she said that I am very organized and follow my plans until I reach the goal.
Part 3: Reflection
When reflecting on the interviews and my self-estimation, it’s very salient to me, that my family has similar thoughts about my characteristics, abilities, and skills than me. Especially the aspect of being well organized was named by nearly every one of my interview partners. In most aspects my family thinks the same way about me as I do. The only point that I might change in my list in part 1 is that I am even less agreeable than I stated it in the fifth bullet point.
I think being organized and ambitious are two very important traits for any individual. The fact that no matter what your task is at hand you are ambitious about it. That is a great trait to have because it shows your dedication and caring. Your interviews were nice and a lot of people care about you. I would have loved to see some interviews with some friends or classmates versus just your family.
Opportunity First, I would like to explain the opportunity my venture concept tries to exploit. Nowadays many people have a special diet, from glutenfree to vegetarian and vegan. The trend for those special diets is increasing. Around 4% of all Americans have a vegetarian diet, and nearly 50% of all Millennials say, that they eat vegetarian. A lot of those young people cannot stick to their diet when eating outside. Especially fast-food restaurants have very little to no vegetarian alternatives on their menu. Thus, customers have to eat meals with meat instead of a vegetarian dinner, or they have to go for the side dishes, e.g. side salads or fries. The market for vegetarian fast-food restaurants is limited to regions where many young and open-minded people life, i.e. cities or colleges. In those regions, a vegetarian fast-food restaurant would find enough customers to flourish. Since having special diets is a trend, the “window of opportunity” is not open forever, but I think openi...
The customer segment I chose two assignments ago is characterized by 18 to 25 years old students who pursue a sporty lifestyle and care a lot about their nutrition. In this assignment, I would like to go a bit further and describe a very specific type of customer, i.e. to create a customer avatar. Customer Avatar The prototypical customer I want to describe is a 22-year old girl, who is a second-year student at a US university. Her major is law. She is very ambitious in her studies and strives to finish her bachelor with a very good grade. She is very open-minded and loves to travel – she even made a trip to Europe last summer. After she did an internship at a law firm in Britain, she decided to explore the European continent and made a road trip for one month on her own. Besides traveling, she loves to hang out with her friends, to cook and to do a lot of sports. From going to the gym to swimming to playing ultimate frisbee – she can’t decide what to prefer more. When han...
Below you can find my second elevator pitch. Reflection on the feedback from my first elevator pitch The recommendation of including some numbers or facts in my elevator pitch was very helpful. I think that it will help the audience to understand how big the problem really is. Additionally, the listeners might take my elevator pitch more seriously because they might that I am really deep in the subject. One classmate told me that he liked the beginning of my elevator pitch a lot. He thinks that I was really good at putting the listener into the shoes of my customer. What I changed Based on the feedback, I included a statistic saying that 12% of all people between 18 and 29y identify themselves as vegetarians. Furthermore, I kept the beginning of my second elevator pitch very similar to the first one. The only thing I changed at the beginning is to address my main target group, students, directly.
